These days you can do almost anything online — thanks to the internet and the Google search bar. It’s crazy how easy it is to find answers, automate services, and get results without ever having to leave the comfort of your own home or ever deal with a real person.
Simply pull that baby computer out of your pocket and type anything into Google — and instant gratification [almost always] follows. You see hundreds of websites, images, and videos that will overwhelm you with so many choices your head starts to spin. Hopefully, your attention span (which for humans, is now shorter than that of a goldfish) will last long enough for you to pick a site and click on a link where you’ll find information, lessons, and internet “problem-solvers” that replace human contact with digitized connections.
With all the free information available to you at the click of your finger, why even bother interacting with humans?
Because you can’t substitute the human experience with artificial intelligence.
Sorry to disappoint all the introverts out there. True humanity in empathy, compassion, and understanding is something that you have to live to experience.
So if you need help with copywriting — and if you hope to be able to plug-and-play some kind of artificial intelligence solution from the interwebs — think again.
Great copy taps into emotions, stories, real-life problems and solutions, and connects on a much deeper level than even uber-advanced AI ever could. Unique human interactions are not realistically duplicated in the virtual realm.
Sure, a computer can provide scenarios or predictions for how people interact and react, however (news flash!), people are often unpredictable. No artificial intelligence is a replacement for human interactions. And even with all of the fields that have been outsourced to AI, there’s one thing that’s absolutely certain — you can’t use Google to write your copy.
If you’ve ever thought about cutting corners (or costs) on a project — and thought there was a way to circumvent bringing in an expert copywriter by using a cheap, AI solution — think again. While you might receive a “finished” product, will it be optimized? Will it convert? Does it connect with real humans in a way that moves them to action?
You’ll be hard-pressed to get results when you’re relying on technology to understand emotion, as AI would if given the opportunity to create persuasive, revenue-generating copy.
As technology continues to evolve and do things we never thought were possible, the need for human connection will only become more and more indispensable. People crave it. And when it doesn’t exist, they can see right through it.
How much money are you leaving on the table by not sending relationship-building, strategically segmented emails?
